Constitutional actions
Tutela writs, class and popular actions, compliance actions and constitutional challenges to protect fundamental and collective rights.
What we do
When a fundamental or collective right is violated, the Colombian Constitution provides fast, effective remedies. We file tutela writs, popular and compliance actions and constitutional challenges to protect our clients’ rights. We know the technique of each action and the deadlines that govern it.
What’s included
We pursue constitutional actions in defense of our clients’ rights.
- Tutela writs (constitutional injunctions)
- Popular and class actions
- Compliance actions
- Constitutional challenges
- Contempt proceedings
When to call us
An authority or a company violates a fundamental right and the harm advances while it is being discussed.
An entity refuses to carry out an administrative act or a rule that binds it.
A general rule affects an entire sector and the route is to challenge it, not to litigate case by case.
A tutela is filed against the company or the entity and the deadline to answer is days.
The tutela was granted and the authority is not complying with the ruling.
What the client gains
- An answer in days, not years. The tutela is the fastest mechanism in Colombian law when a fundamental right is at stake.
- The right action for the problem. Tutela, compliance, public-interest and unconstitutionality actions protect different things; choosing wrong gets the claim dismissed.
- The ruling is enforced. Contempt proceedings are what turn a favorable judgment into a real outcome.
